What is your approach to therapy and the specific modalities you use?

I view therapy as a playground to uncover unconscious beliefs and build enough safety to fully feel emotions that have been trapped in the body for years. As a somatic therapist, I emphasize the importance of “titration,” which is the idea that your body can only metabolize a little bit of information at a time. Given this concept, I work with clients on building their capacity to feel safe in their bodies through resourcing, practices that regulate one’s nervous system. Additionally, I prioritize the empowerment of clients, so they always feel they have choices in our session. I use both dance/movement therapy and sensorimotor psychotherapy approaches to support clients in processing trauma within a framework of play and creativity. I follow clients' lead and never push my own agenda; however, I will note when I see inconsistencies to support clients in holding themselves accountable as they work towards their goals. It is such an honor to support clients through the darkest, most challenging times with deep compassion for their humanity. My hope is that through our time together, clients will feel a greater sense of acceptance, joy, and connection with themselves and their world.
